I don’t have an easy summary. It feels like most metrics are trending down slowly over the longer term, but this week looks like maybe it’s going up? But maybe that’s noise?

The biggest scary thing is what sure looks like a wastewater rise in Fraser Health. 🙁

According to this article (2024-02-27), the BC government is trying to poach healthcare workers from the UK.

Statistics

As of 29 Feb, the BC CDC situation report says that in the week ending on 24 Feb there were: +464 reported cases, +112 hospital admissions, +17 ICU admissions, and +18 thirty-day all-cause deaths*.

In the week ending 17 Feb, they now report that there were +400 reported cases, +109 hospital admissions, +17 ICU admissions, and +26 thirty-day all-cause deaths*.

For comparison, in the previous update (2024-02-24) they reported that for the week ending on 17 Feb there were: +396 reported cases, +95 hospital admissions, +16 ICU admissions, and +14 thirty-day all-cause deaths*.

*All-cause deaths in people who had a positive COVID-19 test in the prior 30 days, that is.

There were 156 people in hospital and 12 in critical care with COVID-19 on 19 February.
