Statistics

As of 30 Nov, the BC CDC situation report says that in the week ending on 25 Nov there were: +370 reported cases, +126 hospital admissions, +24 ICU admissions, and +14 thirty-day all-cause deaths*.

In the week ending 18 Nov, they now report that there were +363 reported cases, +132 hospital admissions, +37 ICU admissions, and +21 thirty-day all-cause deaths*.

For comparison, in the previous update, they reported that in the week ending on 18 Nov there were: +357 reported cases, +95 hospital admissions, +18 ICU admissions, and +24 thirty-day all-cause deaths*.

*All-cause deaths in people who had a positive COVID-19 test in the prior 30 days, that is.

There were 174 people in hospital and 17 in critical care with COVID-19 on 30 November.

Vaccines

From the Government of Canada vaccine page:

The cumulative number of third COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in British Columbia was 2,970,279 (59%) as of September 10, 2023.

The cumulative number of fourth COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in British Columbia was 1,754,831 as of September 10, 2023, which is 35% of the population.

The cumulative number of fifth or more COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in British Columbia was 927,773 as of September 10, 2023, which is 18% of the population.

To recap, in BC, 59% of the people (including children!) have more than two doses, 35% have more than three doses, and 18% have more than four doses (by 82 days ago). (Go BC!)

By comparison, in the USA, only 31% have had more than two doses. Even in California (which has done very well compared to the US as a whole), only 40% have had more than two doses.
