week ending 2022-12-15 BC

Hospitals

This article reports that BC Children’s Hospital has approved putting two kids in a single room, in order to deal with crowding. (I don’t have good sources for you, sorry, but I believe that while double-respiratory-infections happen, it’s not as common as one would think. Having respiratory illness A seems to give some protection against respiratory illness B. Hopefully, though, they won’t be bunking leukemia patients with COVID-19 patients.)
