Prince Rupert
The province is going to vaccinate everyone in Prince Rupert with the Moderna vaccine before 1 April, in a compressed age-based schedule. Everyone. As Justin McElroy of CBC says, this is reasonable. It’s a long way from anywhere, there are only 12K residents, it’s high levels of grinding poverty, a population which is ~50% indigenous, and one of the highest COVID infection rates in the province.
So not only does Prince Rupert badly, it’s probably also easier to compress the schedule into a month instead of keeping their ultra-fridge there for months and months.
Call Centre
Apparently, VCH believed Telus when Telus said they could handle the load. None of the other provinces did, but Telus was given a stern talking to and promised to do better. And they did.
