I still think it’s not the right time yet to get a flu shot. There’s not a lot of flu going around, and historically it peaks in late December. It *did* peak early (at the end of November) two years ago — but that was our first season post-mitigation measures and we’d already seen a noticeable rise in cases by early November.
You certainly can get one if you want to get it out of the way (or if you are worried that they will run out), but that means you might be *under*-protected if the season starts late.
As far as COVID-19 goes, it does look like it is dropping a bit.
Charts
From the BC CDC Situation Report:
From the Viral Pathogen Characterization page:
Flu and RSV are ticking in ever so slightly.
In the week ending Oct. 26, among confirmed cases, there were
- ~2.7 times as many COVID-19 cases as enterovirus or rhinovirus cases.
- ~9 times as many COVID-19 cases as flu cases,
- ~10 times as many COVID-19 cases as RSV cases,
Reminder: the graphs below don’t tell how many cases there were, but how many cases they found when testing. Almost nobody gets tested.
