Statistics
+1,318 cases, +5 deaths, +1,082 first doses, +4,680 second doses, +28,396 other doses.
The province has stopped reporting active cases and recovered cases, as it is clear that those numbers are no longer accurate. The case numbers clearly also are just as inaccurate, so I’m not sure why it’s reasonable to drop active/reported when they don’t drop the new cases.
While the case counts are known to be undercounts (because they changed the testing strategy so profoundly), the case counts today can still be meaningfully compared to the case counts last week (or eve a month ago) because the testing rules have been consistent since they were changed. They were changed informally around 17 December 2021 and more formally on 19 Jan 2022.
Currently 867 in hospital / 138 in ICU. Active cases and recovered are no longer reported.
