Vaccines
A big Phase 3 trial of AZ in the US just finished. While their previous trials has some ah irregularities, this one seemed to be done well.. Fortunately, this trial showed good results in the general population and in old people. (And no blood clotting issues.)
Except… there was a highly unusual announcement from US federal regulators questioning the results. Whoa. I don’t understand what got their knickers in a twist, we’ll probably know more tomorrow.
I have to say, AstraZeneca Incorporated does not exactly give off strong vibes of knowing what the hell they are doing.
I don’t know how this will affect the USA’s promise to lend us their AZ vax.
Pandemic side effects
There is a study which says that people staying at home gained about 1.5 pounds per month. I saw somebody on Twitter call bullshit on the study and found some questionable things, but alas, I was not able to re-find that screed. Just know that maybe the paper does not completely accurately reflect reality.
Long COVID
Oh great. There’s an article which says Long COVID sometimes makes you psychotic.
