Testing

A pilot project at UBC where they used rapid testing in the dorms found several clusters, and was deemed a success. Some are asking why we are not doing more rapid testing.

Opinion: I worry because we have seen over and over again that people treat a negative rapid test as license to drop their guard (e.g. at the White House Rose Garden superspreader event). If people understand that it’s ONLY a “stop” signal and not a “go”, fine, but that seems to be a really difficult concept to get across.

Supply

I missed this at the time, but on 6 May, Canada announced that they would get some more AZ doses. The official supply page forecasts ~89K coming to BC next week.
