This week’s BC CDC weekly report (with data through 16 July) said that in the week ending on 16 July there were: +1044 cases, +246 hospital admissions, +21 all-cause deaths.

This week’s report said that the previous week (data through 9 July) there were: +973 cases, +262 hospital admissions, +29 all-cause deaths.

Last week’s report  (data through 9 July) said that in the week ending on 9 July there were: +973 cases, +211 hospital admissions, +22 all-cause deaths.

This week’s report said that the previous week (data through 2 July) there were: +765 cases, +220 hospital admissions, +34 all-cause deaths.

The BC CDC dashboard says that there are 406 in hospital / 30 in ICU as of 21 July 2022.

StatsCan has updated their excess deaths page. Say what you will about BC’s COVID response, we did a better job of protecting our elderly from COVID than the other big provinces. (Alberta wasn’t bad.)

On the other hand, BC failed MASSIVELY at protecting its elderly from the 2021 heat dome. Oh. My. Fucking. God.
