A reminder that the province has shifted to its summer data release schedule: only wastewater data will be published weekly; other data will come out on the first Thursday of the month.

Four of the Canadians on the MV Hondius ship are from quarantining in BC — two BC residents and two from Yukon. This press release from the Government of Canada (2026-05-10) describes what precautions Public Health is taking, which include being very very careful with them until they get to BC, and then having them “self-isolate” at “a pre-determined location” until at least May 27. I’m going to guess that it’s a family and that the “pre-determined location” is “their home”.

BC Public Health does promise to “assess the health of the travellers regularly, as well as provide any assistance and personal items that may be needed.”
