COVID-19 appears to be holding pretty steady. Flu actually went down according to the province, but that is probably noise.

In the most recent data (ending 1 Nov) as reported on 6 Nov 2025, among influenza-like illness (i.e upper respiratory diseases) cases the province has test data for:

  • 40.5% were COVID-19;
  • 30.2% were entero/rhinoviruses;
  • 12.4% were influenza A or B;
  • 7.1% were RSV;
  • 6.5% were parainfluenza;
  • 1.1% were metapneumonia viruses;
  • 1.5% were adenoviruses;
  • 0.6% were “common cold” coronaviruses.

Mitigation Measures

🐦‍⬛🤧 This article (2025-11-06) describes how the Supreme Court ruled in favour of culling the ostrich herd which had been infected with bird flu. This article (2025-11-07) says that the ostriches have all been killed.

🐦‍⬛🤧 This article (2025-11-06) reports that there are currently 18 poultry farms in BC with active bird flu outbreaks.
